Pixie Handbook - 2 Months In

APRIL - Let's start at the beginning of my hair evolution, starting in April when I decided to cut off a good chunk of beautiful hair. *sheds a tear* 

Here is my hair after I cut it. But then as per usual I think, well I cut it off once, why not again, because as it grew out it had no shape and I wanted a hair cut anyways. "why not just chop it all off? It'll grow back!" IT WILL TAKE YEARS THAT'S WHY

AUGUST 17 - I am literally having a panic attack can you see the pain in my eyes. God I hated it so much. I will explain why, I wanted a side parted pixie with a long swoop of hair to the side, this is what I said and illustrated with many pictures of pixies with cheekbone/chin length pieces. I left with this non feminine super short cut that accentuates my large head. I will get to my other problems with it later.

SEPTEMBER 17 - one month in I am sort of able to side part it. It so heavily wanted to go forward for about 6 weeks and had awkward chunks that were too short to do anything with so bobby pins became my best friend. I also vowed not to dye my hair and I lasted 3 weeks.

OCTOBER 18 - It is almost to the length I initially wanted it cut, it is parting to the side nicely (well sort of, right out of the shower it wants to middle part which would be so gross) My hair is growing over my ear, and the funny little short bits infront of my ear can be cutely tucked behind. I like it a lot better now, but still not about it. Also its weird because i am wearing it not the way it was intended so it has strange long pieces in the back.

PROS  - 

Its a life experience?? Here's the thing, people have told me "wow that totally suits you" "Wow so cute!" and i just do not feel it. Maybe it suits me but I want long hair I MISS IT

CONS - 

I MISS MY BANGS, the worst part about having a pixie is i miss my bangs so much.

I get the urge to put my hair in a ponytail which I cannot and its unsatisfying. 

Also it is not that cool, people were like oh i bet your hair was hot, this will be a lot cooler. Nope. 

I have a super huge Ben Affleck head and I feel this accentuates it. 

My hair stuck out weird at first and still does because you have to constantly trim it like once a month to keep it the way you want. 

Also if you sleep on it it gets super weird.

Cannot cover bra straps with your hair, due to no hair.

Nothing to move around, you can't do stellar hair flips while singing to Beyonce, which is a big thing in my life.

No fun styles, its very one note.

I will be 23 when it is the length in the first pictures. TWENTY THREE.

You get the idea, it is my life currently but I like long hair better, I felt very un-pretty the first 3 weeks I had it. My advice is to think about it A LOT before hand. What kind of hair do you have? This will greatly affect the cut, sometimes a cut looks super cute but on your own head it may not turn out how you want. If you like wearing your hair down over your shoulders, i would not advise this cut, it is very hard to get used to not having.

So far I have not gotten my hair trimmed or re-shaped. I'm just trying to get it to grow out as quickly as possible. I can't wait until I get a cute lil bob, I think I will like that.

Weekend purchases// Ready for Spring

Spring is my favorite season. Main reason is that it's my birthday season. Second reason, "It's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket." I'm going to be on spring break next week and i'm so so ready. After spring break it's going to be smooth sailing, and by that I mean hectic craziness of all of my projects and essays being due on the same day and 2 melt downs an hour. 

Anyways....

Here are my weekend purchases: Gap Jeans (marked down $40), Urban Outfitters fringe purse (marked down $20), Not Your Mother's Long and Strong Conditioner (smells like candy and was only $8 to begin with), and One More Thing by BJ Novak (a collection of short stories that i am in love with and it was 20% off).

I've been searching forever for the perfect boyfriend jeans. and fringe purse. I am so serious. It's fate and they were on sale which only proves the fate of our love even more. I used to have a fringe purse and it was like the first purse i ever really had and used and i used it to shreds and it was just my soulmate purse, so i'm really stoked i found this one it's similar (and maybe even a little cooler) I just loooooooove the fringe ITS SO LONG like i'm a badass lady that you shouldn't mess with. 

I feel like this purse makes me the person i am supposed to be.

Ok I should be writing the outline for my speech for my Comm class but i'm not feeling it. It's only due tomorrow HAHAHAHAHAHAUHHHG. Ugh ok i need to go before i completely lose all interest in speech writing oh wait hahahahahaha. i can't stop.

I LOVE THAT LAST PICTURE. wOW. I can't stop singing Honeymoon Avenue by Ariana grande but she has a voice like butter with a range that reaches the moon so my neighbors probably think there is a cat in heat nearby. So I dyed my hair red hence the title. Maybe that's why I'm channeling Ariana Grande. 

I love having my hair red, I mean I love pink I think it'll always be my favorite hair but this was a fun change and feels a little bit more wild instead of the usual girliness I embrace. I've lost every single ounce of my summer tan, geez louise i am looking like Snow White. It also doesn't help that I took these photos at noon, with the sun all up in my business, but I still like the way they turned out.

So I've started Spring Semester of my freshman year of college, and I have never been more ready for summer break in my life... What? It's only been two days? Uh oh. But I think my classes will be ok this semester or maybe horrible, it's hard to tell because teachers may be hiding their inner craziness only to pull it out during midterms and fail you.

Anyways I'm digging this hair, I hope I can get back in the groove of school. Wow hello did we just transport to the 70's when I am pretending those words were relevant. Is that Shaggy of Scooby Doo??! Most hippiest hippie i know.

I need to go before this gets any weirder.

I like wearing my hair in bunz it makes me feel nice and cute and fun. Whoa, who do you think you are??? Miley Cyrus????

wow, actually, i could go on a whole tangent about my love/hate relationship with Miley right now (have you heard Wrecking Ball? It's phenomenal... but have you heard twerk w/ justin bieber because no. but honestly i'll probably still listen to it on the treadmill.. and don't even get me started on the VMAs, i mean we'd had to converse about that i can't even express my thoughts via text)
wow, ok. no. but i do like wearing my hair in buns, which i have recently-ish started doing, along with wearing my hair in braids across my head.
There's something about updos that are just so lovely and romantic and nice. ok, but also sidenote, i have like a bit of hair as you can see in the photo below that is short???? like what happened to you, lil buddies? why are you this way???

I love salted caramel everything.

I love these earrings. They are so darling. Today it rained, I liked it, except we had to go to the garden to work which was not pleasant and I was in a cardigan and dress. I am never prepared.

But my mom bought me a salted caramel frappucino after school which I love, its so good, and I bought a dress online. Woohoo, what a rush!

Is it wrong that I kind of like it? Is it wrong that I kind of want it? Although I'm sure its high maintenance as in every 3 weeks high maintenance, whereas I'm more on the every 6 months if I'm lucky kind of plan.

It reminds me of P!nk, but my mom thought it was more of an Ashlee Simpson.

Although really I'd just like the haircut. But I also don't want to look like a british boy, which lets be real, she slightly resembles.

She's been changing her hair so frequently lately that I'm sure the majority of it was fried. I think it's interesting that since she's gotten engaged she has changed her hair twice. But I give her credit for doing what she wants. Plus she donates all of her hair to make wigs for people with cancer which I think is awesome.

It's beginning to grow on me.
